September 2013 ~ Meet Kaya

Bio: Hi! I'm a 3-year-old, knock-out of a blonde, if I do say so myself. I'm VERY put out that I got (shudder) shaved! I am quite trim at 70 pounds and way back sometime I was adopted by a family from a shelter but they have little teeny kids and me and kids do not mix! I do love other dogs. My family said I've been kind of timid but they've talked "baby talk" to me and I love the sound of that! I don't remember but maybe someone was mean to me and it made me scared of being petted on the head. If you'll just give me a few minutes, I can get past all that and relax because getting petted on the head feels really good. Or petted anywhere else for that matter! I just need a calm family that has patience, and is understanding. I don't like to be startled or surprised so maybe you could be extra gentle with me until I get used to you? I think if I had another kind dog for a "partner" in my new home it would help me to learn things, and if we had a fence we could play and be safe.
